What do I need to know to apply?


To participate in BRAT22 you must:


  • Live within the region bounded by the Nannup, Bridgetown-Greenbushes, Donnybrook-Balingup and Boyup Brook Shires

  • Become a member of BRAT Inc. (free for 2021-22 year)

  • Provide evidence of public liability insurance – participants exhibiting from their home studios can find more information here

  • Participants exhibiting from other venues may be covered by the venue’s insurance so check with them first

  • Agree to advertise the trail through your contacts, social media platforms and by distributing posters and programs

  • Agree to provide feedback about your experience of the trail

  • Agree to open your exhibition/studio on the dates and times you nominate


In addition to participation fees (solo exhibitor $100, groups of 2-4 $75 each exhibitor, groups of 5 or more $50 each exhibitor) you may need or want to purchase a sign for your exhibition:


  • If you are a NEW solo or group exhibitor you will be required to purchase at least one sign (either a roster sign or flag banner – see images).

  • All exhibitors (new and returning) may purchase additional signs.


Be prepared for your application


The application form has four pages. If you just wish to become a member of the Blackwood River Arts Trail Inc association, only fill in the first page and indicate that you will not be participating in the trail.

If you are exhibiting as a solo artist, fill in all four pages.


If you are exhibiting with someone else or as a member of a group, firstly select a group representative and a group name. Everyone exhibiting in one venue must use the same group name on the application form.  Only the group representative will need to complete all four pages of the application. Other group members complete the first two pages only.

An invoice will be sent to solo exhibiting artists and group representatives (who will be responsible for collecting fees from group members) once insurance details are supplied to admin@blackwoodriverartstrail.com


Important dates:

Applications must be received by 30 November 2021

Insurance details must be sent by 14 December 2021

Fees must be paid by 20 December 2021


Before you start make sure you have the following information and attachments:


  • Details of your website, FB and Instagram links if applicable

  • Venue details including opening days and times (if exhibiting from a home studio standard hours of 10 am – 4 pm will apply. Hours should only be changed if exhibiting from a venue with different opening hours)

  • An image of yourself ideally with your artwork (it should be a high res jpg, CMYK, and have the file name format: lastname_initial.jpg)

  • An image indicative of exhibited work (same specs as above, file name lastname or groupname_artwork.jpg) only one image per group to be uploaded by group representative

  • Please note - this form will not auto save and must be completed in one sitting. You will receive an email acknowledgement on successful submission
