Glenda and Phil Osterlund

Painting and sculpture.

Glenda and Phil Osterlund

Exhibiting in Blackwood River Arts Trail At:

GPO

Glenda is an acomplished artist who has been painting for many years and enjoys working in the main with Acrylics, Pastels and Inks. Her style is really quite conventional but her subjects usually convey real life situations that are thought provoking and draw the viewer in. In 1995 she was fortunate enough to participate in a workshop run by a traditional Papier Mache Artist who specialised in alphoil sculpture and working with pulp, resulting in a solo exhibition of Papier Mache mirrors later that year. Since then she has developed a love for Papier Mache Sculptures using a combination of Pulp, Papier Mache Clay and Air Dry Clay.

Phil is a self taught craftsman who enjoys working with wood and metal. He was twice awarded first prize at the Boyup Brook Art Award for his Metal Sculptures. Last year, Glenda and Phil started working in collaboration with each other, Phil setting the stage and Glenda dressing it with her Papier Mache characters. Through their combined efforts, they have produced pieces of art that are really quite unique.
