Blackwood River Arts Trail Inc. is excited to offer this 2.5 day workshop for Artists and Makers. Facilitated by PAULA SILBERT, arts consultant and media figure, boasting a multifaceted career in the arts. As the pioneering director of the Fringe Festival and advisor to four Art Gallery of WA directors, including the late Betty Churcher, Silbert has played a pivotal role in shaping the cultural landscape. With a background in arts management teaching at WA Academy of Performing Arts and TAFE, she served as the inaugural curator and policy writer for the St John of God Health Care Art Collection, procuring the first 100 artworks. For 13 years, Silbert earned acclaim as the award-winning owner/presenter of the radio segment Smart Arts on Fairfax radio. Beyond the airwaves, she offers strategic guidance to cities, towns, and shires on cultural tourism and community engagement. Silbert extends her expertise to universities, TAFEs, and arts centers, providing professional development courses, workshops, and mentoring to artists at various career stages. This exciting opportunity has been organised and subsidised by Blackwood River Arts Trail Inc. and offers grassroots, emerging, mid-career, and established artists and makers in the BRAT region the opportunity to participate at a fraction of the actual cost. Venue: Bridgetown Gardens Function Centre Address: Robinia Way, Kangaroo Gully Times: Friday 3rd May, 4pm for 5pm start drinks and nibbles provided 8pm finish Saturday 4th May 9am to 4pm, tea, coffee and Lunch provided Sunday 5th May 9am to 5pm, tea, coffee and Lunch provided $75, artist participating in 2024 Blackwood River Arts Trail $150, all other artists from the Blackwood River Arts Trail region (Donnybrook-Balingup, Bridgetown-Greenbushes, Boyup Brook, Nannup and surrounds) PLEASE NOTE: - Artists must attend all 5 workshops, i.e. not select. The program/workshops are interlinked. - Registered artists must attend or cancel in advance. They may not substitute. Substituted attendees will not be admitted. - Registered artists and BRAT Inc members will not receive the workbooks if they do not attend the workshop. Cancellation Policy
To cancel your booking please contact us within 72 hours of the scheduled start time. On cancellation your deposit becomes forfeit. Payment must be made in full one(1) week prior to the event to keep your place. In the event that you have not paid and not contacted us we will offer your ticket to the next person on the wait list and your deposit will be forfeit. Priority will always be given to participating artists in the Blackwood River Arts Trail and members of Blackwood River Arts Trail Inc.
