Heather Elliott-Smith, an accomplished glass artist, has relocated from the Ferguson Valley to Nannup. She and her Husband, William have participated in the Dardanup Art Trail for several years at their studio in the Ferguson Valley.
Their award- winning glass art, and sculptural works, features a range of glass types and incorporate metal, timber and a range of other mediums.
Heather's career as an educator included many years as an art teacher.
She studied fine art has extensive experience in a range of art mediums. Her initial works in glass was leadlight glass. However, after doing a course in kiln-formed glass in 2005, her passion for the medium has burgeoned.
Her works include functional items, whimsical animals in addition to exquisite sculptures and centrepieces that are architectural and highlight the qualities of glass. She manipulates glass to highlight colour and form to create spectacular works.
Recycled clear glass is salvaged and reutilised in sculptural works.
William's background as an engineer and sculptor included successful solo sculpture exhibitions in USA.
His impressive sculptures combine his strong design understanding with his woodworking and metal skills. These works, often incorporating glass and grace the gardens at their Nannup studio and can be seen in situ.
