The day can take me in the direction of oils, water colour, inks, or pastels. Whichever captures the subject best along with the mood. I have painted on and off, along with running a business for some years. In my retirement I hope to spend more time now with brushes and my easel.

My subjects come from near or far. I do like historical subjects and also have a passion for painting animals and portraits. I sometimes do an abstract.

Makybe Diva’s First Colt – Rock Star

Rock Star was looking to be as good as his mum, devastatingly had a terrible accident in his stall, which lead to his death.

He deserves to be celebrated.

I was inspired by the simpleness of this subject. The man had worked with sheep on the station all his life. Unfortunately, he was a victim of petrol sniffing in the outback as a youngster.

The station owner had a understanding and a caring nature which gave him a chance to be useful again. I met this man in my travels.

My Tribute to Van Gogh's life

I was inspired after reading the story of his life. I painted this for a friend, who was also fascinated by his story too. The two famous pieces in the background of this picture and the sunflower are pertinent to this story of Van Gogh life.

I was inspired by a request from a lady’s daughter, who was having a special birthday. I chose pastels to do this and I loved just how easy it was to bring depth and lovely tones to my work.
