Jean has always loved art and drew and painted as a child. It didn't carry over into adulthood due to parents suggesting that art couldn't be a job, and there were more important things to do in life.

Art, therefore was expressed in the garden and the kitchen, with colourful garden beds and original recipes. Every now and then, the desire to paint would surface, but it would usually be squashed back down.

Over the last few years it has been more and more difficult to ignore the call to put some paint onto paper or canvas. There has been just a dabble here and there.

In 2023, there was a shift, and Jean decided that it's now or never. She has been enjoying painting with acrylics, with small forays into watercolours and mixed media... proving that everyone is an artist.
